Can You Model If You Don't Wear Makeup

"Await… you lot're not wearing makeup?" Hearing this is really a really squeamish compliment, only it also amazes me how much my lack of makeup surprises other people!

I become all kinds of questions about why I don't wear makeup and what I do wear so I figured it was a dandy topic to start talking nearly more.

First I need to clarify, when I say I don't wear makeup, what I mean is that I don't wear makeup frequently. If I'g going to an event or have a special occasion, then I'll either pay someone to do my makeup for me because then it feels a bit more special and I know it's done properly, or I'll just do some basic makeup myself.

As well, I feel I have to say, I don't non wear makeup considering of whatsoever ethical reasons, I'm non taking a stance, I'g not judging those who do wear makeup.

It always surprises people when I tell them that I'm not wearing makeup. Then they usually ask why I don't wear makeup, and if it's for ethical reasons. This is why I don't wear makeup and what I do instead, it might surprise you.

I really think wearing makeup is a very personal thing and I am in awe of people who can do information technology so darn well. Information technology's an art and your skin, your face is your canvass and you get to cull what you do with it.

So, why did I stop wearing makeup?

As you can run across, I take a lot of freckles. And for a long fourth dimension, I hated those freckles. Now I come across people are going and getting their freckles tattooed on and that's just then strange to me.

I have spent a lot of money and a lot of time trying to become rid of my freckles with laser removal, specialised creams… and they e'er come dorsum.

So, when I was in the height of hating my freckles, I wore a lot of makeup to comprehend them upwards. Similar, a lot of makeup.

But here's the thing about wearing makeup when y'all have freckles – if you're trying to embrace them up, information technology's really hard to exercise considering your skin tone is all over the place.

You have darker freckles, lighter freckles and then, if you're like me, your base pare colour is really lite then if you try to match that, yous look washed out and super pale.

So I'd wear more makeup to try and fifty-fifty information technology all out and it was ridiculous. And my skin was suffering for it bigtime.

I had these lilliputian bumps all over my skin and while I've never really had acne, I did have blotchy crimson peel and it simply felt like I was putting more than and more on my confront to fix information technology or cover it upwardly.

I decided I was going to let my skin breathe a flake and just stop wearing makeup for a while.

It always surprises people when I tell them that I'm not wearing makeup. Then they usually ask why I don't wear makeup, and if it's for ethical reasons. This is why I don't wear makeup and what I do instead, it might surprise you.

Not wearing makeup to work was a big step for me. I yet wear tinted sunscreen, I'm often in the sun a lot and it can be for long periods of time so I need the sunscreen and the tinted just stops my face from looking super stake because of it.

For those who don't know, I'm a Paramedic then I tin be out in the sun for hours at a time and getting all dirty and sweaty and honestly, once I stopped wearing makeup, my skin felt so much ameliorate after work! It didn't experience so gritty and I found I could launder my confront at work and only reapply the sunscreen and I felt and so much more fresh!

One of the biggest benefits I didn't even think of was the corporeality of fourth dimension I saved when getting prepare! So much easier!

I was still wearing makeup when I'd go out for the day or if I was meeting friends for coffee, but I soon realised if I was going to give my skin a break, information technology needed to be a proper break.

So I cut right dorsum to but wearing some pulverization or pencil on my eyebrows, and a piffling gloss on my lips. No foundation, no BB creams, no mascara…

A few months afterward I cut right back, I went to my annual pare check I have done and highly recommend everyone to do. In Australia, we accept super high rates of skin cancer and they are and so much harder to pick than you would ever imagine.

You'd retrieve because I accept so many freckles it would exist easy to spot the ones that are questionable, but I'chiliad telling you it's not.

So I went for my peel check and they found a skin cancer, on my face.

Check out the video to see a moving picture of the pare cancer on my face up… it's not every bit like shooting fish in a barrel to spot every bit you might call back…

Obviously, I had to have the peel cancer removed, but having a skin cancer removed isn't just a little cut and it's done… they had to cut a larger amount out around the growth also. It's like removing a tree, you lot take to become all the roots as well and make sure information technology doesn't grow back.

So I ended up with over 20 stitches on my face and half of my eyebrow gone…

I did inquire for a Harry Potter scar merely apparently they weren't taking scar requests that mean solar day…

I've always been pretty cocky-conscious about my eyebrows, they're dark just sparse and I could never become them to expect good. It was fifty-fifty worse now I had this big scar through my eyebrow.

Then, after a year of dealing with having to try and pencil it in every day, and still having eyebrow pencil as the only makeup I wore, I decided I was going to have my eyebrows tattooed.

I spent a long fourth dimension researching the right person to do information technology, I mean… it's a tattoo… on your confront!! It's not like yous can just hibernate it if you don't like it.

I plant someone who was admittedly astonishing and in May 2019 I got my eyebrows tattooed.

At first, I was a fleck worried… but kept reminding myself to trust the procedure. The person I had do mine spent over an hour and a half merely measuring and outlining where she was going to tattoo, and then spent another hr doing the tattoo.

It was the best cosmetic decision I accept ever made.

It always surprises people when I tell them that I'm not wearing makeup. Then they usually ask why I don't wear makeup, and if it's for ethical reasons. This is why I don't wear makeup and what I do instead, it might surprise you.

Now that I have my eyebrows tattooed, I genuinely become makeup free well-nigh days. I will occasionally add a little pulverization to my eyebrows, like in the video, just to brand them a little darker and fuller looking, merely most days I don't take to worry about it at all.

Getting my eyebrows tattooed wasn't a simple determination. It wasn't about my no makeup arroyo, it wasn't for anyone other than myself.

I realised I was avoiding taking photos of myself with my kids because I didn't take my eyebrows drawn in. Having half of my eyebrow missing was making me so cocky-witting I was missing out on capturing these memories and I didn't like that.

Since having them done, I literally never worry about how they look in a picture, I take shots with my kids get-go affair of a morning, while swimming, whenever!

Information technology might seem vain to someone else, merely to me, it was a big deal, and that'due south my whole point with this.

If wearing makeup for you makes you feel good, so become alee and do it. If you're similar me and saving ten – 15 min a twenty-four hour period (or more than) past not doing brand up is important to you, and so become for it. If you lot want to go your eyebrows tattooed, or you lot forehead botoxed or whatever it is that makes YOU happy and confident, then do it!

So at present, my daily routine is more about skin care, I spend more time and money on products that intendance for my skin rather than cover it up and since doing and then, I feel like I don't demand to wearable makeup and I am starting to embrace and love my freckles more.

Going makeup costless might not be for everyone, but it might likewise be something that works well for you.

It always surprises people when I tell them that I'm not wearing makeup. Then they usually ask why I don't wear makeup, and if it's for ethical reasons. This is why I don't wear makeup and what I do instead, it might surprise you.
